Motion Picture Critique - In A Dark Place Might Be Mundane

By Phillip Salazar

Okay, Anna is being employed as an art teacher in the city, yet she isn't able to find a job within the big city, and is given a job to teach a young girl by the name of Flora. Within the motion picture, though it appeared that Anna played the role of the nanny and the art teacher. I am not really sure, it had been too uninteresting to figure it out fully, and too lame to want to rewind to get all of the answers.

The dvd In a Dark Place looked like an intriguing motion picture, only due to the fact I based it on the looks of the DVD's box cover. It appeared as if it was a gory horror movie relating to kids. Generally there's nothing creepier than evil youngsters.

As soon as I started the motion picture, In a Dark Place, really dragged on and on, and zilch made much sense.

To start with Anna begins to feel that there is something seriously wrong with Flora. The problem is I never sensed it, or was I given any reasons why she was referred to as a disturbed child by Anna. So the kid doesn't think finger paint is lady like. What is actually so wrong about this?

Shortly after creating a relationship with Flora, Anna gets a letter from some private school that Miles (Flora's brother) is expelled from school. When Anna goes to pick him up, she asks why he is expelled, but is not given a reason.

Being a viewer you assume the reasons is going to be brought out later on within the movie...only...the reason is never brought out.

As soon as the kids are with each other, I started to question if Miles was the wicked one, he seemed to glitch out and in of the good kid, and into an evil kid. Only you simply couldn't make sure. I was left scratching my head more often than not.

By halfway through the show, Anna then starts to have mental break downs where she thinks she is seeing ghosts of dead people who once lived in the house. Just once the movie started to get interestingly confusing, Anna goes and finds herself in a lesbian encounter with some weird woman who lives in the house. I had been thrown off track. What the hell is being conducted?

The children are evil? Miles is evil? The lady who she has the encounter with is whack? Anna is a freak? The movie progressed, and Anna gets more crazy, so much that you are not sure what the hell is going on. Is she the bad one?
