Original Songs For A Unique Wedding Celebration

By Criss White

One wedding is almost always never the same as any other. From the invitation to the wedding favors, almost all aspects of a wedding are made as unique as possible.
If you have attended quite a number of weddings already, there are those unique instances that get everyone's attention. Whether the fireworks display or an original song, people want to experience a wedding that is unique, and therefore, special in every way.

An original song can be a unique song composition written by the bride, the groom, a relative, or a friend. Coming from a relative or a friend, this then serves as that person's gift. That person or the composer can be the one who will sing it on the reception as well, or he or she may choose to have somebody else sing it to them.

If you really want an original song but do not know of anyone who can write a song, there are lyricist and music composers available who can write and play the song for you. They will be charging a fee so prepare to include that in your budget. Also charging fees can be minimal compared to professional composers - a church choir member may be able to write one for you.

Play the original song during the reception. Most churches are strict when it comes to playing music inside the church. Thus, most would expect only traditional songs to be played during the ceremony.
Do not play the music while the guests are entering the reception hall. Chances are, they will not be able to hear the original music as they are busy chatting with the other guests.
Before the song is about to be played, mention that the song is an original piece so that everyone will listen, appreciate the music, and get to listen to the meaning or the words of the song.

It is best if the original song is played in a mellow tone. This way, you will be able to play it during the first dance, a part that is symbolic and truly special compared to the other parts of the wedding. Remember to be creative too and do not stick to the generic music lyrics about love. You can ask the composer to inject personal lines, quotes, or events in the song to make it relatable.

A wedding song is special in itself as it reflects love. Even more special is an original wedding song that captures the pure emotion of the couple and the joy of being joined as one.
