How To Sell Beats: RocBattle

By Kyle Artzt

If you want to know how to sell beats on RocBattle, the answer is actually very simple. Quite frankly, the website isn't very hard to understand and it's probably a lot easier to sell beats on that site than others because it takes a great deal less work.

For instance, on Soundclick you have to get enormous amounts of plays to rank in the top ten of the charts. Don't be surprised if you are getting tens of thousands of plays daily and still barely getting into the top 30.

RocBattle is cool because it's a lot easier to rank for, and you really don't have to think nearly as much. It's all about wins and losses, which makes the charts system simple and easy to take advantage of. The charts are based upon who wins the most battles per month, meaning that the guys who lose a lot of battles on that site are going to be at a serious disadvantage. Luckily the numbers reset every month.

So this is just proof that one big inevitable thing is going to happen again and again as long as this is the way the site is run. People are going to huddle together, get a big group of friends together and just constantly vote for each others beat battles in order to help themselves make their way to the top. This is unfair, and that means the charts are pretty much corrupt anyway. So why not completely take over the website by taking advantage of this?

You can take over the website in a kind of bad way, and its considered gray-hat (I'd say), but it's awesome and I think it isn't hurting anybody's experience. All you have to do is get a click full of friends together, and literally 10 people will do just fine. Create and manage these 10 guys, so everybody votes on each others new beat battles, EVERY SINGLE time. The easiest way to do this is to set up a small mailing list for all the people in the group to communicate to the whole group through. It's easy to do, simple to implement and if you do it, you'll be getting some seriously good charts rankings. You can compete in the basic charts easily using this method because nobody even has to pay, so its a win win win situation.

Of course the other part of it is that you really have to be ready to take on the challenge ahead of you. If you expect to do one or two battles a month using this method, you're thinking far too small. You need to start doing 50-60 battles per month, both on a basic account and on an exclusive member account. Yes, everybody in the group will have to pay the $7 monthly fee, but with those charts positions it can be very, very worth it. You can completely dominate on this site just by using simple methods such as that. It's not done very much but the fact of the matter is, RocBattle isn't that hard to rank for.

Soundclick is basically impossible to rank for because it takes so many plays to get into the charts. But the thing about it is, you don't have to get anywhere near the top 10. Soundclick has so much massive traffic that you can generate thousands of visitors even in the low 100's!!
