Ideas To Help You Prepare For The 2010 Summer Programs Auditions

By Loraine Saunders

This is the time most young dancers are trying to sharpen their skills in dancing in preparation for the 2010 Summer Intensive Program Auditions, every dancer is trying to do his/her best so that they can emerge victorious

But you may have attended all the ballet classes to improve your skills and still feel that you are not fully prepared for the job. If this is you then I have a solution that can be able to boost your confidence.

Below are some of the guidelines that if you decide to put into consideration, you can be able to get more from the program and in fact end up being selected.

One of the most important thin g you should learn is to smile, smiling tends to communicate a lot from you and ensures that you feel relaxed in what you are doing. Try to smile during the auditions especially when you are dancing, this will provide the confidence that you require and even if you mess a bit, you will be able to convince the auditioner that it was not intentional but it was just a mistake. Remember don't put a fake smile which people will easily notice.

Secondly try to do your best, don't consider the competition that you think is going to be in the auditions instead concentrate in what you are doing and give it your best shot, this will show that you have confidence in yourself and make the judge think you are the best since you are doing what you know with confidence.

Learn to accept mistakes, no man is perfect. When you make a mistake just accept the mistakes don't frown otherwise you will indicate to the judge that you are being hard on yourself or a sign of contempt to him. Instead own up with a smile.

Finally learn to make eye contact with the judge, this is possible if you understand how to do it and you can also practice with your teacher, learn to look at him/her in the eyes then looking at the judges will not be a problem

Am sure after reading this article your confidence has improved a great deal and you are going to perform well in the auditions
