By Edward Farmer

This article is going to talk about the things you need to know to get you started on car audio. After reading this, you will be ready to buy and begin your work on installing.

If you have no idea how big your car speakers are, you need to found out. Call the dealer or find out online. This task is rather easy and takes very little time.

Simply search online for the the exact model and make of your vehicle. Now you'll know what fits, what should fit, and, what does not fit.

You can also choose component car audio speakers. Each speaker has its own separate tweeter and crossover network. They are usually 5.25 inches and 6.5 inches.

There's also component speakers. Component speakers have additional crossovers and tweeters. This allows for more of a elaborate set-up.

One of the main reasons why they components sound so good is because they can usually take on a lot of power. Plus, the tweeter mounts in a position to point straight at your ears.

Subwoofers need to be added too. You want to make sure they do not over power your speakers. Everything needs to sound balanced.

You'll notice that most people put subs in the trunk and they almost always have 2 subwoofers. This creates more bass for the listener.

You could actually just go with one, powerful 15" sub and be all set with bass. But, if you listen to harder hitting music, go with 10 or 12 inch subs.

When you buy your amplifier(s), make sure they are rated as close to the speakers and subs RMS rating. Do not over power your speakers.

Why? Higher power speakers need a lot of watts. Without them and you will be wondering why you even upgraded your old speakers.

Just make sure that each one of you speakers and subwoofers are getting the right amount of wattage. They will play perfectly as long as you take this into consideration.

Now you should have some more confidence when looking for car audio electronics. After your first experience, you'll keep doing it over and over again.
