Cancer and other various diseases can be a traumatizing thing for someone to get and for their family to go though. I can say this from experience because my Grandfather was recently treated with chemotherapy for cancer in his face and a little bit in his lungs.
It can be very hard for the people who have cancer to deal with it. It's hard to know that you're dieing from an illness and there's nothing that you can do about it yourself. You're at the mercy of the treatments that the doctors give you.
Cancer isn't the only disease that can make someone feel this way though. Aids is another one, and there's no cure yet for Aids so it's hard for the people who get Aids to think positively. Aids can be treated but it can't yet be cured so it feels as if you have something that will eventually kill you.
It's not true that everyone who is diagnosed with Aids dies from it, but a lot of people still die from it.
For the reasons listed above, it's very important that doctors and scientists continue to search for new and improved cures and treatment options. I truly think that eventually we'll come across a cure for both Aids and cancer, but until this happens we must constantly be moving forward in our battle to find cures.
I"m sure that the men and woman who are working to find a cure are working extremely hard to do so. Eventually we will find a cure and these diseases will become minor illnesses. But until then we must deal with them as we have with our modern day treatments. Even though these treatments don't cure the patient, they still help. It's important that we get out a good awareness for these diseases so that scientists can get more funding to find cures. The more funding they get then the sooner they will find a cure.
